Reasons Why Regulating CO2 Emissions Needs to be Reconsidered

Reasons Why Regulating CO2 Emissions Needs to be Reconsidered

Posted On: February 26, 2025
Fifteen years hence, we now know much more. None of the scary scenarios originally predicted have actually come to pass, or at a minimum they were greatly exaggerated. Ten-year deadlines to “do something” about the “climate crisis” have come and gone… a few times. Even the IPCC (which only allows alarmist-leaning scientists to participate) has admitted it is unlikely we will experience significant changes in severe weather by the year 2100 that can be tied to increasing CO2.Re Posted From: Reasons Why Regulating CO2 Emissions Needs to . . . NOAA’s Homogenized Temperature Records: A Statistical House of Cards?

If NOAA’s temperature records are truly the best we have, they should be robust, reproducible, and verifiable. Instead, this study suggests they are a moving target, adjusted differently depending on the day, and often without a clear reason.Re Posted From: NOAA’s Homogenized Temperature Records: A Statistical House of Cards?Watts Up With That . . . Amicus Brief Filed In Glen Oaks Village Owners v. City Of New York

Posted On: February 26, 2025
The Court of Appeals has a chance here to save New York City and its residents from their own folly. It may or may not take advantage of the opportunity. If it takes a pass, and reinstates the dismissal of the case, Local Law 97 will still fail within a few years at most. It’s just that, in that scenario, a lot of people stand to get hurt.Re Posted From: Amicus Brief Filed In Glen Oaks Village Owners v. City Of New YorkWatts Up With That . . . [More]

The Gulf of America Region (GOAR) manages three programs on the Gulf of America Outer Continental Shelf (OCS): oil and gas, renewable energy and marine minerals. The GOAR manages offshore resources in Federal waters off the coasts of Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida. Nearly three-fourths of the Gulf of America employees are scientists including geologists, geophysicists, petroleum engineers, physical scientists, biologists, environmental protection specialists, and environmental scientists.Re Posted From: The Gulf of America i . . . New Study Reveals Unexpected Decline in Ocean Evaporation Amid Rising Sea Temperatures

New Study Reveals Unexpected Decline in Ocean Evaporation Amid Rising Sea Temperatures

Posted On: February 25, 2025
It’s another case where observations don’t match the script. The “warming equals wetter” narrative takes a hit when a natural factor like wind can call the shots. It’s not a knockout blow to climate orthodoxy—evaporation rose for decades before 2008, tracking warming—but it exposes gaps in the models and the risk of over-relying on simplified physics. Is this a strong indicator that atmospheric dynamics are more in charge than CO2-driven forecasts admit? The study doesn’t preach; it just lays out the numbers. That’s plenty of . . . [More]

Earth’s Energy Imbalance – Part II

Posted On: February 25, 2025
Just as in Part I, in Part II I find numbers applied to fundamental concepts that are small but with uncertainty estimates I cannot reconcile nor find entirely credible. The entire topic of climate change appears to be like this; guided by numbers and measurements that need to be certain within 0.1% but are often 10 or 100 times worse. Is the cloud feedback positive? I don’t know. There is a lot of weather to sort through to find out. However, if it is positive that is not necessarily a bad thing as explained in Part III.Re Posted From: Earth . . . [More]

Quote of the Week: “Nobody’s honest. Scientists are not honest. And people usually believe that they are. That makes it worse. By honest I don’t mean that you only tell what’s true.
