No, Vox, Measuring Burps and Farts Will Not Save the Planet

Posted On: December 8, 2024
A recent article at Vox, titled “Scientists are measuring burps and farts. It could help save the planet,” claims that methane produced by farm animals is causing dangerous global warming, and thus that reducing agriculture-related methane is critical to limiting warming to the 1.5°C target established for political ends in the 2015 Paris climate agreement. This is false. Animal related methane is not a threat to the environment, contributing little if anything to global warming.Re Posted From: No, Vox, Measuring Burps and Farts Will Not S . . . When Scientists, Skeptics and Eco-Loons All Agree, Except for Catastrophic Storytelling

Posted On: December 8, 2024
The current slowing of the AMOC is simply part of a natural oscillating dynamic. Its current slowdown will soon increase Arctic sea-ice and lower temperatures naturally without crazy Net Zero mandates or Gate’s sun blocking. The slowdown doesn’t mean we are all going to die like the eco-loons and alarmist scientists push with their catastrophic story telling. Whether we burn more or less fossil fuels, it will not change the AMOC. And perhaps it will then be realized that life-giving CO2 is not our enemy!Re Posted From: When Scientists, Skep . . . Climate Change Weekly # 527: Climategate Revisited: 15th Anniversary of Climate Hoax Exposure

Posted On: December 8, 2024
This month marks the 15th anniversary of “Climategate”—the release of thousands of emails among climate scientists showing them behaving very badly. The scientists colluded, and still are colluding, to create the perception of a manmade climate crisis, based on their preconceptions about the way the world works, backed by computer model projections—computer models they helped build, inputting their assumptions about what affects global temperatures, an instance of confirmation bias, circular reasoning, or both. By contrast, real-world e . . . [More]

How the Trump Administration Can Make Nuclear Energy Popular With Women

Posted On: December 8, 2024
When people think about the incoming Trump-Vance administration’s plans to unleash domestic energy production, they likely start with oil and gas drilling, and policies governing fracking and clean coal. Yet nuclear energy has a critical role to play in expanding our domestic energy resources, while also protecting the environment. We shouldn’t let antiquated misperceptions about nuclear production stand in the way. Re Posted From: How the Trump Administration Can Make Nuclear Energy Popular With WomenWatts Up With That . . . The initiative, entitled the “Reliability Resource Initiative (RRI): Interim Accelerated Interconnection Process,” would allow up to 50 new generation projects to be connected to the grid alongside a slew of previously approved power facilities, according to the most recent version of the PJM proposal. The queue of already approved projects are made up almost entirely of green energy sources, which PJM notes are “intermittent and limited-duration resources,” and thus multiple megawatts of renewable power is needed to replace one megaw . . .
