Quit Fearmongering, The Nation, Climate Change is Not a National Security Threat
Posted On: December 5, 2024
Weather resilience is worthy of planning for and funding and critical for national security, but what The Nation is asking for is not that. They are asking for societal restructuring based on the false premise that current and future weather can and needs to be changed by human efforts, otherwise, the magazine implies, U.S. national security is at risk. No one should fall for this falsehood. The U.S. does face a variety of national security threats; climate change is not among them, much less it being the most important threat security threat t . . . [

U.S. “Energy Dominance:” A Key to Trump’s Peace Bid
Posted On: December 5, 2024
U.S. and European energy policies toward Russia are marked by striking inconsistencies. On the one hand, the Biden administration, flanked by its NATO counterparts, dispatches hundreds of billions of dollars in military aid to Ukraine and trumpets sanctions aimed at crippling the Russian economy. Yet, on the other hand, these same nations continue to procure Russian oil, gas, and LNG, thereby replenishing the very coffers they claim to be emptying. This hypocrisy is compounded by President Biden’s own domestic energy policies, which curtail A . . . [

California “purifies” its little air bubble at the expense of its residents.
Posted On: December 4, 2024
It is appalling that wealthy California with its “green mandates” continues to burden its residents with humongous costs to transition to just electricity, and support unethical, immoral, and hypocritical actions to obtain exotic minerals and metals from poorer developing countries to achieve that electricity transition. The California offshore wind environmental impact statement is full of holes
Posted On: December 4, 2024
Note that this is the first one for floating wind turbines which is very different from the fixed turbines being built along the Atlantic coast. Floating wind is still an immature technology with a large number of proposed designs none of which has been tested at commercial utility scale. Through these findings, the researchers identified how electric field variations correlate with specific weather conditions. This enhanced understanding of electric field responses to weather events could significantly improve nowcasting systems for predicting extreme weather, particularly in regions prone to flash floods and sudden weather changes.Re Posted From: Interesting:Watts Up With That . . .
