Posted On: December 28, 2024
The election of former President Donald Trump a few days before the Conference of the Parties, known as COP29, began had a profound impact on zapping any potential success from the summit. The Times of London wrote that the “wind was taken out of [COP29’s] sails before it even started with the election of climate-skeptic Donald Trump in the U.S.”Re Posted From: Morano OpEd: ‘Trump effect’ undermines U.N. climate summit: COP29’s failure is great news for humanityWatts Up With That . . . Government Disinformation on EVs
Posted On: December 27, 2024
But the Government is not doing that. Instead it is deliberately claiming that drivers will benefit from the transition to EVs. But they know full well that by the time ICE cars are banned in 2030, the taxation raised by fuel duty and VAT on fuel will have to be raised from other sources. Consequently drivers may benefit from cheaper charging, but will see those savings cancelled out by road charging or some other revenue raising scheme.Re Posted From: Government Disinformation on EVsWatts Up With That . . . Should Climate Policy Take a Holiday?
Posted On: December 27, 2024
A pause for reflection doesn’t mean abandoning environmental stewardship. On the contrary, it’s about embracing a more thoughtful approach—one that weighs the costs and benefits of every policy. It’s time to move away from rushing toward uncertain goals and instead prioritize solutions that address today’s needs without mortgaging the future.Re Posted From: Should Climate Policy Take a Holiday?Watts Up With That . . . The Sierra Club’s Temper Tantrum
Posted On: December 27, 2024
This press release is less a call to action and more a call to fundraising. It’s a stew of hyperbole, half-truths, and empty posturing, served with a side of smug self-satisfaction. If this is the Sierra Club’s idea of fighting for the planet, maybe we’d all be better off if they just stuck to hiking.Re Posted From: The Sierra Club’s Temper TantrumWatts Up With That . . . [

Energy Expert Robert Bryce: “It is a colossal black eye for the wind industry, which has collected tens of billions of dollars in federal tax credits by claiming its landscape-blighting, bird-and-bat-killing, property-value-destroying turbines are an essential part of the effort to avert catastrophic climate change.”Re Posted From: European Energy Firm Ordered to Remove 84 Wind Turbines from Osage Lands In OklahomaWatts Up With That . . .
